Restoring our Sacred Relationship with Water—for ourselves, the ocean, and all life on Earth.

A Path of Remembrance Through Our Original Bond with Water

With Author AnuMa Jackie

What if the deepest call of your soul is not a longing but a remembrance of home, waiting to reawaken within your own body?

Giving Voice to Water, Whales, and the Living World. For tending Water and Whales is tending Life herself.

Book cover titled "Return to the Womb of Life" with a mystical underwater scene featuring a white whale and a floating red rose, with a cave opening above and light shining down.

Through my book Return to the Womb of Life, and the living vision of MATRIA AQUA — an inner and outer sanctuary, alive within me and still unfolding into form — I invite people to reconnect with Water as a living being and source of memory, origin, consciousness, and life.

Rooted in Mother’s Sacred Waters, my living vision of an inner and outer sanctuary, MATRIA AQUA, seeks to bridge inner transformation, embodied remembrance, and ecological awareness—awakening a deeper sense of belonging to Mother Earth, the ocean, and Life Herself.

My path is one of love and devotion, presence and remembrance, wildness and fierceness, tenderness and kindness— and a deep commitment to restoring a more conscious and meaningful relationship with Water and the living world.

From awareness…
to relationship and connection…
to care and protection.

What People Are Saying

  • "Return to the Womb of Life is a beautiful, poetic celebration of the Mother, a deep honouring of the holy womb, an ode to the mystery and sacredness of life."

“AnuMa Jackie’s devotion to love and truth and reverence for her ancestry and the Goddess shine through the interweaving memories, invocations, and poems, making this book not just a compelling read but an activation into the Divine Feminine.”

    – Emmi Mutale, Womb Healer & Teacher, host of the Sacred Feminine Power podcast and the Return to the Mother World summits.

  • "Through her initiatory journey, AnuMa restores reverence where modern ecology often remains technical."

“As a woman who has worked for over three decades in ecosystem regeneration, I recognise in AnuMa Jackie's book a missing dimension of environmental work: the restoration of sacred perception. Return to the Womb of Life reconnects water to its true nature, not as a resource, but as a living, conscious matrix of life. Her work bridges embodiment, feminine wisdom, and planetary stewardship with rare coherence. In a time of ecological crisis, she reminds us that true regeneration begins with remembrance and devotion.”

  • "AnuMa Jackie's book does not ask you to believe anything. It simply shows you a woman walking home, and in the showing, something in you remembers that you also know the way."

“I’ve had the joy of walking alongside AnuMa Jackie through priestess training, and what I want to tell you is what I loved about this book, and why I hope you will read it. I loved her parents. I did not expect to. I came to this book ready for the Mother, for the Magdalene, for the great mythic sweep — and what stopped me was a girl walking through a flattened Germany holding her mother's hand. A boy of sixteen sent into the last years of a war he had no business being in. A young girl, years later, brought to the edge of death by her own body, not yet knowing it was the first time the waters were calling her home. AnuMa Jackie does not place the Mother above the human story. She lets the human story be the Mother's story. The displacement, the loss, the silences her parents carried, none of it is decoration. It is the soil out of which her remembering grew. And when she finally meets the Magdalene, the Black Madonna, the Whale Goddess, you understand that they were already meeting her, all the way back, in the small particular grief of a family who had lost almost everything. That is why I want you to read this. Especially if you are a woman who has been away from the Mother for a long time. Especially if you have stopped naming Her, or never quite knew how to begin, or felt that the spiritual language available to you was too thin to hold what you actually carry in your body. AnuMa Jackie's book does not ask you to believe anything. It simply shows you a woman walking home, and in the showing, something in you remembers that you also know the way. The waters in her body recognise the waters in yours. That is the whole of it, really. Read and do not be surprised if you find yourself put down by it, more than once, simply because something in you has been waiting a long while to be met like this.”

  • The Sanctuary

Born from the same waters and remembrances that gave rise to Return to the Womb of Life, Enter the Sacred Waters of Remembrance is a book-rooted sanctuary of sacred and conscious reconnection with Water, the body, the whales, and the living world — an invitation to return to feeling, relationship, and remembrance, and to meet Water not as a resource, but as Source: a living presence carrying memory, wisdom, and life.

  • Books

Books have been among my greatest teachers, companions, and sanctuaries throughout life, and the writings shared here are born from lived experience, deep listening, and profound inner journeys — invitations into remembrance, into our belonging to Life, and into the sacred wisdom carried by Water, the Deep Feminine, the Magdalene, and the whales. I warmly invite you to explore the books below, from Return to the Womb of Life to Magdalene Unveiled.

  • Journeys

Every journey begins with a call — one through Sacred Waters, one through Sacred Land — and both are invitations into remembrance: Return to the Womb of Life opens a journey home to the Mother’s Sacred Waters and to our original belonging to Life, while Follow the Footsteps of the Magdalene offers intimate journeys through the sacred landscapes of Sainte-Baume, in the South of France, for those called into sacred relationship with the Feminine, with the land, and with Life Herself.

An invitation into remembrance. Carried by the body, by Water, and by the living world itself.

A woman in a long purple patterned suit is sitting on rocks near the ocean, reading a book with the sea in the background.

Life guided me to the Mediterranean Sea, where I have lived for most of my life, and where my relationship with Water deepened into a path of remembrance, devotion, embodiment, and inner transformation — guided by the Magdalene, the Great Mother, and Water as the source of life and a living sacred presence.

For many years, I have translated languages, while another form of listening quietly emerged within me: one rooted in the body, in sensual aliveness, presence, and the living intelligence of Water.

Through writing and poetry, this remembrance found its voice — first through my poems, then through Magdalene Unveiled, and now through Return to the Womb of Life, which forms the living heart of MATRIA AQUA.

Today, through my writing and the sanctuary emerging from it, I invite others into deeper relationship with Water, the Mediterranean Sea, the ocean, the living world, and whales as guardians of Earth’s living memory.

In Water, I trust, for in Water I am anchored.
In my female body, I trust, for in her I am rooted.
And in the Mother, I trust, for I am Her Daughter.
